Staff Changes
The village now has two Assistant Village Administrators — Tom Ludwig and newly retired Jerry Eatherton — sharing the role. Liz Myers has taken over as Utility Clerk following Alicia Tong’s move to a position with the Findlay Post Office.
Village Report
The Ohio High School State Hammer Throw Championship, hosted at Hurricane Park, was a rousing success — the village has been asked to host it again next year. Pool plumbing has passed inspection ahead of finishing interior work. New Hurricane Park buildings (concession stand, restrooms, storage, and a shelter house) have been approved and will be set on village-poured footers. The swimming pool renovation is planned to begin mid-September, with a new floor, repaired mushroom feature, and new concession stand.
Special Dates to Remember
- Free swim days: August 2nd and 14th (last night swim of the year on the 14th)
- Pool closing: last regular day August 19th; open weekends August 22–23 and 29–30
- Trick or Treat: October 31st
- Christmas in the Village: December 5th
Flags Along Main Street
56 flags were installed along Main Street to honor the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, thanks to generous sponsorship from village residents and organizations.
